Try out UW Theme 2.0 with just one click

UW Theme 2.0 Playground is a temporary WordPress environment that runs in your browser. You can test the theme’s blocks, patterns, and the block editor without setup or risk. Experiment freely — just remember that changes are lost upon page refresh.

You must log in with NetID to access.

Explore blocks, patterns, and the new Gutenberg block editor.

Before you start

Content doesn’t save

The Playground is for testing only. Once you refresh or close the page, everything you created will disappear.

First load may look odd

You may briefly see unstyled HTML in the header area when you open the Playground for the first time. Refresh the page, and the theme will display normally.

Not a WiscWeb site

Extra plugins you may use in WiscWeb (like Gravity Forms) are not available in the Playground. Only UW Theme 2.0 plugins can be used.

You may encounter bugs

The platform that our playground runs on is WordPress Playground and does not require any servers. Because it’s still a new technology for the WordPress community, Playground is constantly in flux and there may be bugs that exist in Playground but not in WordPress or UW Theme 2.0.

Example of unstyled HTML upon initial load of the Playground. It will appear like a list of blue links above the site title.
